Bangladesh case: 11 meter split solar street light landed in Bangladesh, with an 80W light source suitable for complex rural power grids

2025 12/22

Chuanglv Transportation deeply cultivates the South Asian market, and the 11 meter single arm split solar street light project has been installed in the surrounding villages of Dhaka, Bangladesh. In response to the pain points of unstable local power grids, a highly adaptable lighting solution has been created.

The 11 meter single arm split solar street light customized for Bangladesh this time is equipped with an 80W LED light source and adopts a split design of solar panels (180W) and lithium batteries (220Ah) for easy maintenance and accessory replacement in the later stage. Considering that the power outage rate in rural Bangladesh is as high as 40%, the street lamp is completely disconnected from the mains power supply and can achieve 10 hours of lighting per day (from 6pm to 4am), working normally for 6 consecutive rainy days.

From the perspective of energy efficiency, the annual electricity consumption of a single traditional city circuit lamp is about 292 kWh (80W × 10h × 365 days ÷ 1000), and the annual electricity cost savings of a single solar street lamp are about 313.24 yuan (1.073 yuan/kWh for industrial electricity in Bangladesh). The 120 street lamps deployed in the project save over 37000 yuan in electricity costs annually. In terms of environmental protection, the annual carbon reduction of a single street lamp is about 291 kilograms, and the total annual carbon reduction of 120 lamps is 34.92 tons, effectively improving the lighting conditions and ecological environment of local rural roads. At present, these streetlights have become demonstration projects for rural infrastructure in Bangladesh, and the local government has expressed its intention to cooperate in the future.
